BE ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY: FOCUS ON PEOPLE, NOT AUTO PARTS

The internet is a wonderful and dynamic source for business owners to find out how they can improve their customer service and what is keeping people coming back. In competitive industries like repair shops, the difference between success and failure is often the ability to connect with the community and retain customers. There are various reasons for people to visit auto repair shops, whether it is for scheduled maintenance or for any sort of automobile repair. For instance, if a vehicle breaks down, then visiting such shop is a must. However, with an increasing number of these shops emerging, it has become very difficult for these shop owners provide the kind of services; most people would love to get due to pricing or other issues.

Offer your customer quality services with a guarantee so that they will come to you again for sure. It is a fact that a customer would return to the same service provider if he values their services. Try to find out your potential customers by learning more about them. Have a great shop management system as it will assist you in understanding where you need to focus more to gain customers. Maintain a good relationship with your existing customer by providing them brilliant services regularly and offering them some nice suggestion to keep their vehicle performs well. Get a review section on your website and see if your customers are completely satisfied with your services. If not, then focus more on the areas where your services were not up to the mark. However, the most important thing would be to market your business well with the brilliant support system in order to build a healthy relationship with the people in your neighborhood. Here are some wonderful ideas on how to connect with your community:

Join chambers of commerce, networking events, and community events. These are great ways to not only give back, but also let people get to know you outside of your repair shop. Sponsor the events when possible, the key is not joining as much as it is being involved, present and approachable.

If there are causes and opportunities that you really care about, find the chance to involve your business. Passion for the cause is critical. You really must care about the topic/organization/cause, or it will show. For example, the Toys for Tots campaign at Christmas are something that already exists that your company can participate in. Other big community events include: Breast Cancer Awareness Month (get a team to run in the Susan G. Komen race, which happens all over the country). ALS week and the ice bucket challenge (also a great social media tool). Autism Awareness. If you care about the Humane Society in your community, consider for one month, donating a portion of your proceeds on each service, each oil change, or a comparable service to your local Humane Society. Hold a pet adoption on Friday afternoon when many clients are picking up and your shop is busy.  Do one or more of these things and you will be a community staple in no time!
